Karlheinz Stockhausen's Musik im Bauch
The piece was written and designed by the famous German composer Karlheinz Stockhausen. It was inspired both from his young daughter's experience of music in her belly (hence the title) as well as a dream of his that followed. For more information about his work, please click here.
This performance was made in conjunction with the Contemporary Chamber Players at Stony Brook University. The piece required a sculptural figure of a humanoid with an eagle's head. It is meant to be suspended from the ceiling; however, we mounted it on a base for facility in certain venues.
